No Music, Just Madness: The Ultimate Roadtrip to Permute

Some memories just refuse to fade. They cling to your mind like a background playlist, humming every time you close your eyes. One of those memories? Our epic trip to Permute 2025, hosted by the μLearn Foundation at Tagore Theatre, Trivandrum on March 29, 2025.

Today is May 9th, and even now, that day feels like yesterday. We—five friends and the founders of DevMorphix—had one goal: Attend Permute. Experience it. And vibe through it.

The Plan That Never Went as Planned

We originally planned to take the train from Changanasserry, a 4-hour ride. Simple, safe, and on schedule. But nope. Plot twist.

Arjun Chettan, our ever-spontaneous senior, came in with a game-changer:

“We’re taking the car. Early morning. Road trip. Let’s GO.”

Now imagine this—five guys in an Alto, cruising across Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kollam, and finally Trivandrum. Yeah. That’s the South Kerala version of Fast & Furious: Micro Edition.

The Adventure Begins (at 3:30AM!)

I woke up at 3:30 AM, half-conscious but fully hyped. Started calling the gang. Nithin was already up (legend). By 4:30 AM, I hopped on my two-wheeler and rode to Changanasserry.

By 5:00 AM, the crew started assembling—Badhusha and Abhishek arrived first. By 5:45, the dream team was complete. Five boys. One Alto. Zero idea of the chaos ahead.

No Music, Just Pure Vibes (and Trolls)

We didn’t play a single song. Why? Because trolling Abhishek was the real entertainment. I mean, who needs Spotify when you have a friend who can take a joke like a pro? (Mostly.)

Also, Nithin joined in as the co-target occasionally. But Gopal Bhai a.k.a. Abhishek? The MVP of memes.

Kollam Drama & Coffee House Karma

As we zipped through Kollam, a random biker screamed some colorful vocabulary at us. We have no clue why, but hey—that’s when the trip went from “fun” to “full-blown adventure.”

We ignored him (maturity mode: on) and kept going. Hungry and picky, we refused to eat in Trivandrum. Our 'Kollam expert' Nithin recommended a local spot. Did we find it?

NOPE. We doubted if he was even from Kollam at that point. 😄

Eventually, we landed at an Indian Coffee House in Venjaramoodu, where we got some proper adipoli food. Arjun Chettan even dropped a kind word to the manager. Wholesome vibes activated.

By 8:55 AM, we reached the venue. On time. On track. Full of stories already.

Permute 2025: From CM to Kombucha

The event kicked off with Kerala’s Chief Minister giving a speech. Then came other dignitaries, award ceremonies, and booths filled with innovation.

We explored the expos, met our IEDC community, clicked a hundred pics, and soaked in the startup ecosystem.

We even played a quick game and won a tiny notepad with "Enthundakki" written in bold typography inside. So random, yet so deep. Kind of like Abhishek’s life decisions.

Oh—and we tried Kombucha for the first time. Surprisingly good. Slightly suspicious at first sip, but worth it.

And guess what?

We got to meet online friends in real life. Community events really are the LinkedIn of the offline world.

The Return Ride: Chaos, Shakes & Almost Death

Evening came. Photos taken. Hugs given. We started our ride back.

On the way, we found a small shop with legendary shakes and juices. Can’t recall the name, but 10/10 would recommend if we ever find it again.

But the real story? The road back turned scarier than any rollercoaster. Traffic piled up. Crazy drivers. And then... it happened.

Out of nowhere, a National Permit truck came straight at us—on the wrong side of the road. We were stunned. All four of us (except Badhusha, who was peacefully sleeping in the back like a baby) thought:

"This is it. Goodbye world."

But Arjun Chettan, with reflexes of a pro racer, swerved just in time. Missed us by centimeters. Not meters—centimeters. We pulled over. Sat in silence for five minutes. Processing. Breathing. Not dying.

And then, of course, we moved on. Because what else do you do?

Final Stretch & The Moral of the Ride

We stopped at Chengannur for dinner, shared a proper meal, and reached Changanasserry by 11:45 PM. I took my two-wheeler and headed home, brain buzzing with every single thing we’d experienced.

This wasn’t just a trip. It was a vibe. A memory vault. A lesson in laughter, fear, joy, and chaos—all crammed into one day.

Conclusion: Travel = Life, but Make it Memorable

Not every journey will be smooth. But every journey has a story. Some are filled with music. Ours was filled with memes, moments, and miraculous escapes.

So, if you’re planning a trip—go for it. Ditch the perfect plan. Embrace the chaos. Troll your friends. And don’t forget to look out the window once in a while. The real story isn’t in the destination. It’s in the ride.
