What's Going On?!
I never expected this from someone so famous. Oh my God, what a tragedy!

Is this the kind of thing that gives people motivation to harm themselves or others? I never thought I’d see something so disturbing from such a popular figure. It’s mind-blowing! Why are they acting like this? It’s honestly shocking, but then again, some things hold me back from making that same choice. But, from my perspective, even the most famous ones sometimes do crazy things. So, what is going on, especially on the tech side?
Yes, I'm talking about the famous entertainment platform—Instagram. Why is everyone using Instagram? Because it’s a way to pass the time, to get entertained. In this fast-paced world, everyone is caught up with building a perfect future, chasing success, trying to be popular. But in the middle of all that, people still spend hours on Instagram, scrolling through posts and watching stories. The platform gives them an easy form of entertainment.
But wait, does it all come at a cost?
The Good Side of Instagram
Instagram, at its best, is a great way for people to connect, share ideas, and be inspired. It helps people stay updated with what's happening around the world, celebrate special moments, and follow their passions. It allows users to interact with family, friends, and even strangers who share similar interests. For businesses, it's a way to promote products, showcase creativity, and engage with a global audience.
People engage with Instagram in many positive ways—by posting beautiful pictures, sharing their travels, or supporting causes they care about. There’s a ton of positivity out there, from motivational quotes to wellness tips. Instagram can spark creativity and bring joy.
But then, there’s another side to it…

The Dark Side of Instagram
So, what made me write this blog? One day, I was having a casual conversation with a friend. We were chatting about random things—happy stuff, sad stuff, and some emotional stuff too. It was an ordinary chat, but we did talk about serious topics, like suicide and death. In the end, we came out of it feeling okay. We learned something, had a deeper understanding, and moved on.
But everything changed when I opened Instagram and started scrolling through the reels. I mean, seriously, what is going on? The moment I scrolled, I saw reel after reel about depression, suicide, and life alone. It was a lot. Honestly, some of those reels gave off the vibe that being alone and struggling emotionally was the way to go. They presented the idea that isolation and giving up are somehow “motivational.”
Now, I understand the situation, but what if someone who’s feeling down watches these and thinks that it’s the answer? Who will be responsible if that person ends up taking drastic steps? Certainly, the people around them have a part in it, but what about the platforms that keep feeding this kind of content? Instagram’s algorithms pick up on what users are watching and engage with, and unfortunately, sometimes it’s this kind of content that gets highlighted.
The real question is—who is really responsible for this?
Instagram is great for entertainment and connection, but when it starts pushing harmful content, it does more harm than good. And here's the thing—Instagram will not change this. Our data helps them grow, after all. The more we engage, the more they profit. So, we can keep scrolling, keep engaging, but it’s our personal data that’s fueling this machine.
Final Thoughts:
Instagram isn’t just a platform; it’s a tool that’s deeply embedded in our daily lives. It can uplift, connect, and entertain, but it can also promote unhealthy ideologies, spread negativity, and manipulate emotions.
So, hey, if you’ve had a similar experience or you have something to say, drop a comment. Let’s talk about it.
